Starting the Connection

A question that I had when I was beginning to establish a stronger connection with the Goddess Hekate, was "how can I do it?" I was invoking the Goddess inside the circle, I knew the necessary mythology about Her, a big part of it I had read in Witchcraft books. When I felt the calling from Her, I saw this matter of connection more seriously. Well, I couldn't avoid it. The Goddess was communicating with me, there was no way not to see the signs. I liked that She wanted to work with me. I tried to do some things and I also asked for the guidance of my friend Katerina, who was also a devotee. One of the things I did, was to read, to study, to search about Her. And from that starting point, I made a secure ground for building a safe and strong relationship.

The Illusive Goddess

The following article is going to make some people mad, causing them mania to the point that they may even want to hit their screen. It is not suitable for people who base their practices and ideas regardings the cult of Hekate, on illusive personal gnosis, feelings, channelings, New Age ideas, etc. Hopefully, the readers of this blog base their practices on well-documented historical and archaeological facts. Those readers, our readers, may continue reading. The others are kindly requested to exit that page, as it will get them upset.

Hekate in the GD Temple Tarot #2

Almost a year ago, I wrote an article with Hekate in the G.D. Temple Tarot. It is time to expand it and be more analytical. In this article I am going to focus on the Moon card of the Major Arcana and how the Goddess is related with that card.

The Goddess Hekate and the Universe Card

The Triumph XXI of the Rider Waite Smith deck and its connection with the Goddess Hekate, especially seeing Her as the Mother of Binah projecting as the Bride of Binah in the path of Tau.

The card was painted by Adepts Pamela Colman Smith under the instructions of Arthur Edward Waite, but he also got inspired by the card of the Tarot de Marseilles. Waited added the second wand but he didn’t want to be black, in order to keep some secrets.

The oval shape is drawn upon medieval symbolism of the Christ, who was surrounded by almond shapes with leaves. The four creatures around are those from the vision of Ezekiel and Revelation. So the picture was inspired by Christ and the Apocalypse.

Spindle Of Necessity And Strophalos

Some days ago, I followed a pathworking being in theta-gamma. The Goddess Hekate played an important role to this exercise as I asked Her to show me a symbol for my further personal evolution. From a point I could't continue with the existed story of the pathworking as the Goddess created scenes in which I coudln't interfere with my imagination. In this journey She took me to a place which I found later that it was also described in the last book of Plato's Politeia in the concept of the myth, the myth of Er. My purpose is not to reveal the pathworking but the conclusions, the myth and my commentaries.

Poem: A Witch Alone

A Witch Alone

Who sleeps in darkness? And who wakes?
And who prefers the light?
Through chaos, order shall await,
Serenity of Night.
